Hey folks,
Just finished buttoning up my S2IC setup, yet when i put the SC belt on I noticed
that it is rubbing against the bottom of the ICM bracket. Is there a mod or fix
so I can hear this thing run for the first time in a year.
TIA

you can either put some spacers under the icm to lift it up, or you can take a grinder to the cast bracket and lop off a 1/2, then re drill the holes for the icm and blot it on.
how i did mine, http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...t.jpg~original the cut and grind act.
theres a thread how to do it by billboost37.
Was hoping you'd chime in. Been using your pics for reference. What type of spacers should i
go grab? So, i take the bracket off and place the spacers on, re-tighten, than i'm good to?
ive seen pics of people using longer bolts and nuts as spacers. i find it kinda ugly tho, why i opted to cut that 1/2 inch off the inside of the bracket and moved the icm over.
the spacers will be the quick and easy route, being your beyond ready to run it.
Yea i think i'll go with the spacers, I still gotta run the tubes and install the front mount, so Im not
exactly rushing. Just want to make it run before I take it get the trans rebuild.
What you think Granger for those or a standard parts store?
any place that sells bolts and nuts will do. bring one with you to match up the width of the bolts. then enough washers or nuts to lift it up enough to clear the belt. might want to do a test fit and see how much room you need. might be a inch or so.
might even find some thick walled spacer tubing type stuff you can cut to size, would look better for sure.
Sweet. Im on it, i'll jump on that in the a.m. I'm trying to mirror your setup soon as i find
replacement pushrods for my 1.8 rr to go with the 3.3 mps. Any tips for a brotha
I have to say.. doing this on a mock up... I wanted to see more guys do it
How to clearance your stock cast bracket for an intercooler and belt BillBoost way
I had an H body.. there was never a clearance issue.
Mocked up a w body to prove a point for a friend. Seems far too easy to do and have all the clearance in the world.
Mine did as well, just on my last Park Avenue build one rod bent i haven't re-used them
since. Thought i'd throw them on while i had the down time
