Are there any specific symptoms of the needle bearings going out in the m90? I'm getting a lot of noise and although I'm sure the coupler is worn this noise is more excessive whining rather then rocks tumbling.

A whining supercharger .... hmmmmm that's very strange indeed
The only way to really narrow it down is to replace the coupler. When mine went out it was covered by the sound of my bad coupler.
Check your oil level in the housing too. Excessive noise can be a large array of things, bad tensioner, bad pulley bearing, bad needle bearing, vacuum leak, etc...

I'd rather just go buy another M90 at a junkyard and throw it on.
Well I used a stethoscope thing and found it's actually the bearing closest to the pulley so I guess I'm looking for a snout rebuild. I'm not gonna go pay 150$ for a supercharger that's used and could have a bearing fail after 100 miles or possibly already have a bad bearing

Does a bad bearing effect anything though besides being extremely annoying and eventually grenading?
Like would it cause low boost or high outlet temps. Etc?

Where? Although I'd still need an adaptor plate 60$ and honestly I don't get how a gen 5 is even an upgrade unless your running a really small pulley. Like if it's more efficient and you make the same power on a 3.6 as you would a 3.4 on a gen 3 but you can still only run the 3.6 on the gen 5 with no kr then where exactly a are the gains?

The efficiency is the gain. Less heat, more boost, more powah...and errrrybody wants more powah.
Smaller pulley doesn't mean more power if mods won't support it. Because it's more efficient of a supercharger you need to make the rest of the air flow more efficient, i.e. exhaust work or you'll be getting some knock.
I know that's what I'm saying if a gen 5 puts out the same boost on a 3.6 that a gen 3 puts out on a 3.4 it doesn't matter your not gaining an hp gain because you can only handle so much boost depending on your mods. At best I see how you could gain 5 maybe 10hp by its running cooler but besides that I don't see how your gaining any power

if your putting the same volume of air into the engine at less psi of physical boost and lower temps then you are actually stressing the engine less
a larger volume of air at lower temps will make more power than the same volume of air at a high temp and you will be able to put more timing in the engine
