Just pull the dipstick, if you see sparkles that motor is dead.

I did. Oil is clean surprisingly. Would coolant leaking into engine cause rattle?
Just to make sure I have this right. To run the non supercharged engine, I need headers? What's supposed to be in the tune? I can run the cheap 200 Ebay headers?
the tune needs to be changed to a gtp file, map sensor and it pig tail need to be swapped on the na car too. you need headers so it can flow better, and yes speed daddy $200 headers are what a lot of us run.
Scott, you need to read more lol.
It's already a supercharged car, nothing would have to wired in nor the tune changed for that reason.
The tune just needs adjusting because the NA bottem end is the difference.
I found water in the oil. I checked it after I changed the spark pugs and took for test drive. It was clean. Now I just checked it and it's muddy
I found an n/a engine for 436 at lkq. I'm going to do a top end swap. What's the torque sequence and numbers for the head bolts? And will the engine light be on running an n/a bottom end?
well at least the one rod to the locked up piston, you maybe able to put a breaker bar on the crank bolt with a pipe and make it move again, its trash but they do break free some times. as long as it didnt get to hot.
Oh ok. No It Didn't Get Hot. One thing I do on all my cars is watch the gauges like a hawk
http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...s-of-3800-Info top swap thread, has the head tq and pattern
Ok I will. Hopefully the heads aren't trash. I'll take them to the machine shop and get them cleaned and checked. Now what's this about timing being retarded? You tune these also?
