you have a fuel line tool. its nice to un hook the lines and get rid of the rail.

get like 50 Q tips, spray brake cleaner in its cap, dip Q tips in and clean the injector holes at some point before the injectors go back in.

if your lim kit came with new o rings, use them, if not, buy new ones. you want to cut the old o ring, then take it off, oil the new o ring, roll it on the injector.

Now the supercharger doesn't wanna budge. Man ohh man. Can't catch a break here. There are 9 bolts total, correct? 8 short ones and a long one by the snout.

Had to take break yesterday. Just too damn cold out there. Gonna put in a few hours every day this weekend after work. Got the LIM off, see pictures below.
Now to get that LIM back on and do the water pump.

Not sure what I'm going to do about that injector... Is there a way to pop it out from the other side of the hole? Or maybe I just grab it with a wrench, and try to get it out. If I wrench it, I will likely break it because I'm going to have to squeeze it so hard. That sucker is in there good. It snapped a double-braided wire when I tried to lasso it and then yank it out. It's not looking good.

Any ideas about getting that injector out are appreciated. I will do my own research as well. I have found that the issue of stuck injectors appears in a lot of FORD forums.

    Thanks!

    Your lim was failing

The injector oring is probably fused to the head, I personally would "spaz attack" it go nuts and shake twist the living hell out of it or even shoot some pb blaster down there. If that doesnt work take vise grips grab the top of the injector, stand on the radiator support and give it hell!

Ok. Will do!! Gonna go King Kong all over that mofo. That will likely break the injector. Looks like I can get them at RockAuto for $40 or less. New injector is the way I am headed, correct?

On another note, I thought that LIM valley looked pretty good for 235,000. Not cooked black like I have seen in some pics on here. And the orange outline is visible around the gasket. I have never seen a pic like that on here, the port walls are usually blown straight through on the pics I have seen. Although that orange outline around the ports doesn't looked like it has been breached, let me tell ya, that gasket had nothing but hairline cracks all over it. Just one poke with my finger and the entire thing started to crumble. Just some observations.

Also, I am getting a bit of a wild hair here, and I want to do the head-gaskets...kinda. I think it would be efficient since I've done so much already. I wasn't experiencing any bubbles in the rad or anything to show head gasket failure, but the car has overheated on me multiple....MULTIPLE (10+) times in the 2yrs I have had it. They are probably on there way out. Don't wanna have to do all this un-screwing again.

Is a head gasket repair out-of-my-league?

    dont take the heads off.

dont forget to dump a new qt of oil down the valley to wash any coolant out, then do a oil change before restarting.

it is pretty clean in there. chances are the gaskets were done before, but done using new plastic crap.

X2 for not taking the heads off. Headgaskets rarely fail on these and even with your history of overheating, I wouldn't do it.

I would shoot ed morad about getting a used injector, cheaper and arrive faster than rockauto.

Makes no sense to me to have 1 new injector and the other 5 are old. All new or all used imo.

Ok. Very Kool. Not touching the heads! Thanks for the doubled-up advise and getting that outta my head, lol.

I will flush the LIM, for sure. Gotta tell ya that NO coolant spilled in there. I cut the elbow, as recommended, and was able to lift up the LIM without spilling a drop. Got lucky for a noob I guess. I took the LIM and the SC inside the house. Got the LIM soaking in hot water and some Dawn right now. Gonna pressure wash it at a car wash before mounting it back on tonight. Washed the supercharger as well. Didn't soak it, just washed and scraped it very tediously while watching TV. I think I am going to change the oil in there and the coupler. Both are pretty cheap and look really easy to do. I read on here, I think it was you Scotty, who said not to touch the black stuff inside the SC, correct? That the carbon build up is necessary?

How about the black build up around where the throttle body connects to the sc? Should I clean that area up along with the butterfly valve in there?

Antioch, IL huh? Almost into WI, almost Packer country... Hmmm. LOL
Those injectors look pretty good man. How many miles on them? Do they work and you just upgraded? I am asking because maybe I will take a trip up there to collect those... How much for all 6?
Also, when you replaced those injectors, how much of a pain was it to angle and position the new ones into their homes (holes) ?

Miles..... I want to say 210k before I swapped them out for 60# ones. Not a dam thing wrong with them just went turbo.
Price, $40 for all, or $5 for 1.

Injectors just "plop" into the hole. Lube the orings and push it down into the hole, no vise grips or hammer required.

That 6th injector, yeah, it popped right out just now. Just grabbed it with my fist, yanked, and up it went. Crazy! Just like that. Goes to show you just gotta walk away sometimes and get back to it later. Looks good too. Hope it works. Scrapping the LIM on the engine now. Is this clean enough?

Can I upgrade to a different lb. injector with a stock engine?
Can I install a smaller s/c pulley with a stock engine?

looks good to me. clean them injector holes good too.

that upper elbow, pull it out and clean that hole real good too, and the hole in the lim. scotch bright pad or some 150 grit sand paper cleans it up nice. oil the o rings and put the elbow in when the lim goes back on.

To answer your other questions, no.

You can't just upgrade injectors without doing more than that, and you don't need them anyway. You aren't going to outflow them unless you really started modding.

Same with the s/c pulley, dropping a size in stock form will cause more harm to the motor. It can't get that extra air out with factory exhaust.
