Wondering if anyone can help my 05 grand Prix abs light and traction control light turns on after driving a couple of minutes or hitting a bump if I turn it off it goes off until I drive it again I searched on here about a bad wheel speed sensor but the light should be on right from the start correct? Mine goes on during driving. Stopped at auto zone to see if they could scan but said they don't do abs lights...what could be the problem don't have too much knowledge with these

From the hub or the wiring harness itself? None of the wires look broken to mw

Could be both, my car did that for a while then it just came on all the time, looked under the car and noticed that the wires had pulled out of the hub itself.

I'll check In the morning for wires underneath. And is there a way to check which hub is bad if that does happen to be the problem?can you scan abs codes while car is on?sorry for all questions

jack each wheel up, lugs tight grab the top of the tire and push then pull firmly, if you feel play you have a bad hub, bad hub makes the sensor thats built into it not work right. hitting a bump will set the abs light off.

if you cant find a loose hub/wire or damaged wires get it scanned. no sense in tossing money at guesses.

Not necessarily. The OBD2 code reader I used at Advance Auto told me where my issue laid when I was having similar issues.

Mine was a loose/frayed wire. I replaced the harness from the hub to about 3 feet back as it was corroded a good way back.

Are there also any places that can scan the light for me before I have to pay at a shop to have it scanned

you'll have to pay at a shop if the autozone scanner dont pull up a abs code, some newer cars the normal scanner can pick up abs.

I've been able to read ABS codes with HPT, if you know someone local who has it.

A good place to check the abs wire is right at the first bend off the hub...usually on the lca....thats the most common place they corrode or break. On mine the wire was pretty much broke on the first bend , but by just looking at the wire you could not tell until you tried to bend it back and forth then I could tell the wire was bad as it was so flimsy(if that makes sense).....hope this helps ya some

Also, you might want to see if in fact it is the abs sensor and not the abs control unit. The units are prone to failure because instead of soldering the connections they use sound or ultrasonic means to make electrical connections which are prone to failure given age or mileage.
