    put on new balncer started just fine drove car about 2 miles tach started to jump around came to stop car died. it would restart but i had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running with the brake on at the same time. any advice would be appreicated

    What was the reason you put a new one on? Did you check out the CPS to make sure that that wasn't damaged.

    Bouncing tach signifies a bad crank pos. sensor...

    Probably needed that...not the balancer.

    Personally I would of spent the $30 and went ahead and replaced that while you were at it and save yourself the headache.

    Just don't drive the pulley on there wrong

    the old one had a grove in it and was leaking oil car ran fine just a lot oil coming out so i replaced it could that cps gone out bcaused i power washed it off

    No..they just randomly go out it seems like. Water will not effect it unless for some strange reason you drenched it and it ruined it..chances are slim that that would happenZ

    I'd inspect the wiring/connector to crank sensor aswell while you at.

    i just order a new one it will be here tomorrow and your right i should have repalced it since i had it that far apart. on a good note i can now do it in about 15 min to get it apart thanks for all your input much appreciated
