Not being a smart ass but you should ask ZZP the more technical questions. I'm sure they'd know better than anyone.
iirc they have versions of the hv2/3 for both series II and III. i think they were molded in diff colors too. the HV3>HV2 as both produce good top end but the 3rd version doesn't loose as much low end.

Yes you can mod it to fit. There is a decent amount of material to remove. On the 2 vs 3, my understanding is that the 3 was made a bit better.
I have a HV3 for a Series 3 for sale if you are interested. Looking for $120 shipped. The HVII and III are different. The new version that zzp has released is made from polyurethane. Series III is Red and Series II is black. The older HV2versions you have to cut it some to make a proper fitment for the L26
Great, Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I guess it would be beneficial just to stay with the hv3 so ill just do that.
