Not if he's mentioning seeing knock. It's the same concept of guys adding some race fuel when there at the track to eliminate knock. A good portion of those guys didn't tune for race gas...
Didn't realize he was na. I guess it didn't matter much then
My 2006 gt saw 6-7* stock. After 605s 180 stat, intake and overkill PCM I have seen 1.1* on wot pulls. And for some reason 4* if I'm climbing a steep hill as it seems to bog in 4th. I added 110 race gas ( 4 gallons) to a full tank and it has read 0.0 ever since.
a incar tune overkill should be abble to make it run with 0 knock specially with 91 octanne, i was running a 2.5'' downpipe and he made it run with 0 knock.
a fendwerwall intake would be better for a n/a, any cold air we can get the better. I am on a hai setup atm and i have noticed the lack of power when setting at a light for a min or 2.. switching back to my cai soon.
It may be strange but running an opencone in my GTP I was getting 5-6* of KR, switched to a fenderwell intake and now I'm only getting 2-4*.
Maybe when my headers and 1.9's go on I can get rid of all of it.
I'm guessing the best CAI is in the fender well? Seems like the thrasher and wizaird are nice but overpriced. My Bonneville had a fwi from intense and my intake temps were almost always on ambient temps. My hai ( just a cone off the maf ( 04+) is usually 30-50* higher than ambient
U realize its maybe $2-$3 morefor the premium per fill up , right? And yes its important you use at least 91 ( in general ) your tune is based off what octane you have in the car during the tune
i have a peak of .5* of knock at shift
I built mine from light duty pvc pipe from lowes. Cost me $17 + $22 for the filter. I also insulated the piping to help shield out heat. The intake air is normally within 1* of outside air.
