or is that a bad idea?

because it wont run right and you need all the parts to make everything work together. we spelled it out for you in this thread why you need everything. 10 pages of reading is really not that much.
reading is the only way you will learn about the car on the internet...obviously, so get to it!
I cant add to the original post (Too many Characters (25000 limit)) So here is my Update:
Sorry this hasn't been updated in a while, but My trans has held up for almost 3 years in top swap form, and here is some additional info:
Recomended Parts
(These should be added to your parts list to make the Top-swap perfect)
GTP Fuel Pump ( get the whole canister, as it also has a venturi pump...some wiring may be required)
GTP Coils (They ARE different than GT coils, and it causes KR issues on some cars)
Fuel Pump Rewire (this or a boost-a-pump, with the high compression you never want to risk a lean situation)
those are more for if you're going for a build.
Another one is get the heads checked out...
I'm curious about this fuel pump issue though... You mention in another thread that someone had KR issues till they swapped fuel pumps.
Was the KR consistent or what?

Great Write Up! Read through the whole thing and not to sure of what everything is. Im planning on doing the top swap around tax season, and i was wondering is there any other write up with pictures or video? Thanks guys
What exhaust pipes should I get?
I have a 02 SE. The exhaust or whatever pipes are. Different from the gt, gtps.
Ps yes I am a rookie at all this but I am tryna learn.
any headers are fine.
hi..
i have a 98 olds intrigue my friend and i did the whole top swap on... everything listed has been changed ive even have had the computer tune..i run in to a problem no everything is set up and plug in new battery and all we go to start the car and all it does is slowly crank.. only thing i can think of is that i might need a high torque starter.... please help need the car running before we get some nasty snow...dont feel like driving my camaro all winter :\
Or perhaps you need spark and fuel?
Start a new thread on the topic in the general section.
There is a video of doing a lower intake manifold gasket change.... this will be a good general starting point but the vehicle this is being performed on is a SC'ed car so it will not show you everything you need to change over, but it is a good thing to watch to become familiar with some more of the parts and where they go....
So if i wanted to supercharge my stock gt with the L26 i would need heads off a L32 sc motor to do a top swap. I read the top swap thread like 50 times i just want to make sure im understanding it. Thanks
ill quote what i wrote you in your thread:
everything else should work (pulleys, heads, lower intake, blower, etc.).in short, no, you can use L67 components but you'll need to keep your throttle body and returnless fuel lines.
When I was getting my parts out of the junk yard I had wondered about the fuel pump since it was multi-speed. I know there is a relay in the u/h box for it. Looking at the wiring diagrams though, I couldn't tell how or if the wiring were any different between the two. Because of the relay, I would have to assume there is one, I just didn't see it.
I have a base 2006 Grand Prix. I've read through all 10 pages and read about the top swap over and over again.
I have 86,000 miles, probably about 90k before I'll be able to afford to do a top swap.
To my understanding, all I have read about so far in this thread is 04 and older. From what has been said, it is 100% certain that a series 3 can be swapped safely? I'm fairly certain there's no major differences, from 04-06 I should worry about with doing a top swap.
Should I contact Ed Morad for parts, or would buying most of the parts from ZZP be a good idea. My cart for ZZP is pushing $2500 :0
this is what i have to mess with . i have a 2000 gt and i wanna put a 97 gtp supercharge on it (top swap). Questions!!! people tell me to do a top swap and slap a gtp pcm in it with an 97 gtp front harness because the 2000 GT harness isent the same. but wat about the tranny gearing ratio. isent the gt pcm tunned for a gt tranny and a gtp pcm tunned for a gtp tranny. people tell me that the gtp pcm will work with a GT tranny.... is this true? i was gonna throw the whole 1997 GTP motor and tranny in the 2000 gt with the gtp wireing and pcm, thats alot of work. but then i heard that the fuel pump needs to be a 2 stage for a superchager (gtp) if i swap the whole engine, which means i have to run a whole nother gas line from back to front... and with a top swap i dont need to do that sapossably.... im totally confused on what to do now...
All i know is i have a complete 2000 Grand prix GT that runs mint ( my car)
and that i have a complete 1997 Grand prix GTP car ( rotten Frame) for parts. soo i have all wires fuel pumps engine, tranny, and all . i need to know exacly the best situation to do.
I have NO WAY to tune my PCM where im located... soo thats out of the question. anyone have pointers. no one wants to help my situation and i posted quite a few topics. let me know guys... thanks
