I found a guy by me selling a pair of "xspower or speed daddy headers with all header wrapped works with any 3800 series 2 also have dynomax mufflers for sale in box". Not sure what brand they are, but the price is right. Anyone familiar with these headers, and should I buy them for my 98 GP GT?

Speed daddy headers sure. New they are just over $200. Wrapping them is not a good idea, especially up north. You will end up rusting through the header usually (unless done correctly, and sprayed correctly)

Be prepared to buy 4 new clamps, and an o2 extension. Copper RTV helps, though our master Speed-Daddy installer never uses it, but we all think he's a wizard anyways.

If youre wanting headers, yes buy them. 2 people just got screwed over by ssac and got sent ebay obx/pacesetter headers from ebay when ordering from ssac and xs power is the same as them. Speed daddy are hit and miss with stocking and are up to 400 $ on ebay. But usually when theyre in stock they go down to about 240-260. So if you want them and are planning on getting yhem sometime, id def do it. Especially if youre getting them cheaper than 250. N yes ^ is correct about band clamps, rtv n even a new zzp flex, 3 inch double walled.

So xspower is a different manufacturer all together? Which would be a better set, Speed Daddy or xspower? I haven't called the guy yet but he wanted $150 for headers and mufflers.

Stick with Speed Daddy. $150 isn't a bad deal if they are in good shape, and havent rusted any. Though I personally wouldn't wrap my header (on the 3800 anyways)

RTV isn't an exhaust fix unless you have a ZZP downpipe

I don't know why you guys need RTV to put a set of headers on, honestly...they never leak when I install them. I don't do anything magical, no goops...no special anything.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

XS power, Speed Daddy, SSAC, and SLP are all the same design. I have a set of XS power headers on my 01.

Update. I bought the Speed Daddy headers from the guy for $130. And I also paid $70 for a pair of Dynomax 2.5" inlet mufflers with 3" or 3.25" chrome slash cut tips already welded on the outlet side, and the mufflers are new out of the box. I'd say it was a good day. The headers have no rust, but do have heat discoloration. I already removed the poorly done wrap. Lol. All of the connections are welded together, and the egr tube has a bolt welded in it as an egr block off. Is it alright that its all welded together, and to be blocked off this way? Otherwise I'll use my air cut off wheel to seperate the welds and secure it with v-band clamps. I'm a noob to the Grand Prix I have, and I respect all of the feedback I can get from fellow members on here. I'm not new to turning a wrench though, it's just usually on my 4.3 Blazer, 5.7 Sierra, or a 6.5 turbo diesel Silverado. Thanks for any and all help.

use the stock gaskets if you dont totally destroy them when you take your manifolds off. they're the best you can get.

and it's fine to have them welded like that, but you'll be forced into deleting your EGR (which is fine so long as you have someone to tune out the code you're gonna get).

Bio248. Could you recommend anyone in the Milwaukee area to do a tune for me when the time comes to remove any codes I throw? I live 20 minutes north of Milwaukee in West Bend.
