I was driving down the road, lost heat inside the car, I pulled into a gas station and it was leaking coolant all over. The engine was smoking badly.

Replaced the water pump assuming that was the issue, after that it is still leaking and still doesn't have heat inside the car. The temperature gauge says it's at operating temp a lot faster than normal.

Here is a picture, the coolant is leaking around the black tube that is circled in red.

make sure the hose that connects from your radiator cap to the reservoir isnt cut. mine was sliced into from the pulley and alot of coolant flew right under that elbow .

1 Bloody knuckle and a few hours later, the elbows are replaced, the hose from the cap to the resivoir is fine, I have a new water pump in,and still no heat. I started it in the driveway and let it run for a few minutes with the hood open, and it seemed fine but no heat and the temp guage was staying pegged at cold so I took it around the block. On that 2 minute drive it jumped up to 3/4 up the coolant temp guage and was smoking again, still no heat. Before starting it i checked and there is half a tank of coolant in the resivoir and I filled the radiator to the top. After the drive I didn't check it yet,ill go back out in the morning, its 1am right now. Anyone have any suggestions for what to check next? I dont see it leaking anywhere but it sounded like it was boiling and it was smoking/steaming.

take both hoses off th ealt bracket, and flush one with a garden hose, to fill the heater core.

then bleed the air out via the t stat housing, and top off the coolant.

Sounds like you need to bleed the system

Pull the thermostat and fill through threre. The system sounds air bound. This is the easiest and quickest fix. Apply a light amount of RTV to the thermostat housing when you put it back together.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

ok well I filled the system through where the thermostat goes, and in the hose to the radiator, and in the hoses to the heater core, and the top of the radiator, and in the reservoir, I had heat for a few hours, then suddenly I'm back to no heat, and its leaking again, I see it dripping from the subframe underneath but can't see anything from above. It's not leaking from the elbows or water pump, so I'm kinda lost.
