Any recommendations for a cleaning product to soak the LIM in? Or anything to stay away from?

Got some super clean that my LIM and bolts are soaking in overnight.

I didn't have a fuel line disconnector tool, but I made a few wedge pieces out of a cut up soda can, and using a small flathead, was able to disconnect it.

Picking up spark plugs and wires tomorrow, still have to reef the rear plugs off. My upper manifold gasket looked a bit dirty around the EGR stovepipe, so I'll probably pick up one of those as well. Annoyingly they seem to only come in a kit, along with a throttle body gasket, so that'll give me two

You didn't have to pull the fuel lines. You just push them to the side

Alright, almost got everything put back together. Based on the video of doing the LIM I should turn the ignition to ON to let the fuel system pressurize, as well as verify there's no fuel leaks.

Should I do an oil change before or after starting it for the first time? Is there anything else special I need to do before starting it?

being your n/a i would change the oil first, dont even crank it yet.

you may want to take the dog bones off to rock the engine forward as far as you can then dump the oil, as the bolt is higher then the bottom of the pan, water will sit on the bottom, as its heaver then oil, and can get trapped in the pan. and then dump a quart in to help flush out any left over coolant out.

and then turn the key to run, check the fuel connections and injectors o rings in the lim and the fuel rail for leaks. no leaks its time to start it.

Yeah, change the oil right away before you ever start it, then with the drain plug still out, dump a quart in to wash the pan.

Add new oil, run car for 10 minutes to get it all around the motor and change it again with a new filter.

i dont see why you would need to. turning the key to run only pressurizes the fuel system.

Car started like a dream! Thanks guys!

Had a bit of coolant pool under the EGR but it looks like it spilled off the thermostat pin when it was open and I was topping up the coolant.

Turned it off, tried to restart but the battery was being a jerk and wouldn't start up again. Reseated the negative terminal and it looks fine. Gonna run it for another 10 minutes and make sure it's fine/not leaking
