Is it really necessary to dilute it 50/50? I just changed my coolant elbows and used some coolant laying around, some of it was concentrate and some was 50/50 I was in a rush a didn't pay attention. Is their any negative to not diluting concentrated coolant? Also, how would I drain the rad so I could add water?

How much did you put in? If it's less than a gallon.. you are fine. If not.. Let's drain a little off and add a little water. No worries.

PS..the backside of the jug tells you what a higher concentration will do for the colder weather.

I would say it was a good amount, is their a drain plug I can loosen to drain off a portion of the coolant?

Look at the radiator on the drivers side under the coolant hose almost all the way on the bottom is a little valve its called a pet cock turn that and coolant will come out.

Did you completely fill your coolant system that way or did you top it off? If you just topped it off you might be okay. Let the car run with the heat on high for about 15 min after it reaches normal operating temp makeing sure the system is completely bled out of air, let car cool then test coolant with a coolant tester, I think they are like $3 at wal-mart.

Well I was already low on coolant before I replaced the elbows, so after replacing them I was missing a lot of coolant. Would I have to bleed the cooling system again if I drain part of it I was thinking like half the rad or something I put a lot in I thought.

I had 2 jugs of concentrate 1 was 1/2 full or less and the other was new. I used all the 1/2 full concentrate, then another 1/2 full of 50/50 then maybe 1/4 of the new bottle of concentrate. I should specify more

    Nope..you thoroughly confused me.

The best way to know if you need to dilute is to test the coolant. They make a little ball thingy turkey baster looking deal. It would tell you the truth about your coolant and if you need to dilute or not.

this is kinda off topic but....
    Its fun fact time!!!!!!

Take a cup of 50/50 mix and a cup of 100% antifreeze. Stick both of them in the freezer....
the cup of 50/50 wont freeze but the one thats not mixed will...

Cant explain it but heard about it and did me myself and it worked..made my day
