It seriously takes 10 minutes tops.
Even with the motor hot.
Get to steppin' nancy.
i seriously dont have tim to spare on my car during the week i have sh!t tons of school work to do so i dont fail haha
but you take minutes to post question about something that could be done already
im at school....
It's just a 10mm and 4 bolts.
When you get home it takes as long as it takes to walk inside, take a dump, and start a thread like this.
You got time.
when im at home im doing homework. when im at school i go on here in between classes. not to mention i cant clean it at school....
i also work so its not like i have tons of time to myself. trust me when i have the slightest bit of free time ill be tinkering with my car lol you can count on that lol.
Unplug the MAF to see if that's the issue, your car will run fine using the MAP.
I ran a turbo setup without a MAF sensor at all a few years ago.
i would have to leave it unplugged for probably a month just to be sure that its the issue thats how random the problem is. i dont really want to do that i cant drive like a normal person for a month lol
I'm telling you...
gunked up DBW TB's cause all sorts of issues.
If the PCM can't correctly read TPS because of the blade sticking or there being an obstruction...it'll cause random trans shifting issues as well.
It's all connected...when I clean these TB's I always end up polishing the in-ards as well...with say, 2000 grit.
alright thats good to know. i hope thats the issue then and not the MAF, that would make me very happy haha. ill polish it too then, im pretty sure i have some 2000 laying around somewhere.
would going even finer be better? because i might have finer stuff laying around too
I think I used 1000 then 2000...the goal isn't to really take off material it's just to smooth it out and polish so future deposits don't stick.
alright, well ill be doing that too then, i mean might as well while you have it off right? haha
Yeah, that's le points
cleaning and polishing my tb after i eat my lunch, just so all you guys know lol (lucky enough not to have hmwk today).
cleaned TB
before
after
oh and blueguy...my car runs fine with 3 bolts on the TB no vacuum leaks gasket is sealed :P
Why only 3 bolts?
i broke one and blueguy was trying to tell me that i would have a vac leak and my car wouldnt run good...drove it around town with only 3 bolts on the tb. the gasket was sealed i watched it seal when i tightened the 3 bolts and it ran just fine when i was driving around town looking for the bolt. i found it and its in there now so no problems at all. but yes just for the record, i was right and blueguy was wrong!! haha (im just saying this because itll probably be the ONLY time this ever happens haha because i know blueguy knows way more than i do lol).
