i have an 04 grand prix gt ok so i took my throttle body off because it needed cleaned really bad, after cleaning it and putting it back on, the car would start fine but then i would get the reduced engine power messege on the dash and teh car would have no throttle response, ( i could push the gas all the way to the floor and it would do nothing but idle.) i took it back off and let it set over night and put it back on. After i put it on it would let me accelerate like once before going back to the same message on the dash and no throttle again. I took it out to the local auto shop and after a few days of looking at it, he thought that the throttle body was bad. A new one is like 500 dollars and i don't have that kind of money so i got one from Ed Mored on ebay. The auto shop put that one on today and it still has not fixed the problem. Any help is great, thanks.

the guys at the shop tested for vottage at the connection at the throttle body and told me that it was getting the required signal for the throttle to work and with the newer cars there is no need to replace that o-ring like gasket ( or so i have been told)

    It's DBW, right?
You probably got some cleaning fluid in the motor actuator.
The one you got from Morad is probably bad.
Ship that one back to Morad and get another one.

Lots of things are possible. It's possible he has a bad fuse.

OP.. have them take the TB off or at least the intake and hook up their scanner, then command the throttle open and closed with the scanner. That should tell them if the throttle is not working or if there is a sensor on the throttle pedal that is not functioning. Although I'm still thinking it's odd it happened magically when you cleaned it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

ok so i just got back from like my 7th visit to the shop and he told me he doesn't have the right tools to look at the car properly so he told me to call another shop in the area. kinda wished he would have told me from the start, i hate not driving the grand prix, its been like 3 weeks without her.

Find a shop that has the right tools to work on it. A shop without a scanner shouldn't even be trying to work on your car. Have them do what bill said and have them use the scanner to open and close the throttle plate. I also am not sure exactally what the guy at the shop told you about the voltage being at the throttle connection but i wouldn't trust what he said as far as that.

sorry bill, anyways i got my car back it is drivable but not on long distance trip, bmx you were right the ecm needed to relearn the new idle postion since the throttle body can now close farther, im still having problems tho, i just drove my car about 20 miles for a baseball game. got in with someone else and then came back about 3 hours later and got in the car. i started it up and i had the reduced engine power msg on the dash and a CEL so i drove it about 700 feet and stoped at the gas station, talked for about 10 mins and got back in, started it and no msg but i still have the CEL

This is the 3rd or 4th time i have drove this 20 strech with the same results, I NEED HELP

how did you relearn it? cause how i usually do it is unhook the battery overnight, and then hook it back up, and put the key to the acc position for like 5 minutes before starting. that helped me with my tb cel's
