Ok so my 3800 swap will be going in this friday. car should be driving next week. I have a topswap kit coming with the engine and i will need head gaskets.
i can go for stockers, but when reading about the Cometic Head gaskets it got me thinking. i will be having the l36 block with 9.5:1, my old engine the DOHC had 9.7:1 if i go to a thinner head gasket i can bump compression to 9.6 or 9.7. yes i know it will make keeping KR under control that much more important, but my question is how low can we safely push the head gasket.
i was reading that there is quench effects that if the piston is with in so many .001's that it will keep the KR at bay by forcing all air fuel into the center... as i guess this distance pushes nearly 100% of the air/fuel away.
are there any problems with the cometic's i should know about that would discourage me? are the stockers good or bad?
ok Input time :-D
