Find why you are running rich and correct that issue, could be a stuck injector, bad maf, dirty air filter, spark plugs you name it.
MAF was just replaced approx 6 months ago (had a surging issue), after market air intake with open filter added approx. a year ago, filter is still clean and good. Plugs and wires were replaced last year at same time of air filter setup......how can I go about checking injectors?
if it was the injectors wouldnt hear a small tick sound..???
Lies. Clean your filter. It's dirty.
And clean your MAF. That's dirty, too.
Check your spark plugs for condition and gap. If they're coppers, they can start to go bad around 15k miles.
Anyone know: Does a clogged cat cause you to run lean or rich?
Oh hey, you didn't tell us any mods except intake filter. Is that all of it?
Clogged cat.. I dont think Ive ever seen a rich or lean situation out of it. Your pre cat sensor determins fuel trim. The only think you would get is a ton of back pressure that would make you run like crap.
when I bought the car it had some issues where it would not go above 4-5k, was a clogged cat....was replaced then (70k miles, at 116,xxx now). Only mod is the aftermarket intake; However, recently has started doing this surge thing, but only at startup. Sometimes when i start it the RPM's shoot up at start up, then drop to point of almost dying, then picks back up and settles out....

It's not necessarily bank 1 rich (that's P0172)
here's all I could find on it
P0148 Fuel Delivery Error
Found this..but it's very general
OBDII Code P0148 - Fuel Delivery Error | Engine-Codes.com
Not sure if it's right at all. I'd want the FSM to see the diagnostic aids. Maybe put a stethescope to each injector/check the wiring to each.
