What gasket did you blow? If you blew the head gasket, then you might have done some damage to the engine cuz it takes a lot to blow the head gaskets in these cars.
Head gaskets are more unlikely than being struck by lightning. However it's a gasket and it can go. I'd like more info behind why you changed the HG to better understand if the car was possibly misdiagnosed.
An NA motor such as yours ....you do have the aluminum UIM right?
i was told that head gasket was blown because of the engine was hydrolock but like i had read lots of info once i removed everything i dint see no problem with the head gasket so it was probrobly the LIM so i replace every gasket i removed i now it smoking tru the exhaust..
If your using the black plastic UIM...instead of the Aluminum UIM you removed...then that might be your issue. Sounds to me like you didn't get the LIM gaskets sealed correctly...and its dumping coolant into the motor...and burning white smoke out the exhaust.
Smoke color...
Blue = Oil
White = Coolant
Black = Gas
thank you for the fast response i opened to day again and had forgotten to installRTV on the corners of the gasket.. Oh and i have another problem since i did this now my mph needle dont work at first it was acting crazy moving up and down and now it dont work at all all the other ones work great dont know whats up with that???????
Maybe run to a junkyard and swap dash's...granted you'll have to open it up to change it to match your mileage...
yeah i thing ima do that im getting annoyed man its still white smoke coming out of the exhaust, like you say bluegtp its a big diiferent with the aluminum gaskets that the rubber ones because i used the rubber...
If the engine ingested coolant while running at one time,and then repaired, then there will be residule coolant in the exhaust system that needs to get heated up and evaperated and blown out. Driving the car is the only way to get it out. How long it take depends on how much water went thouth the engine, and it will either be white, or invisible if its water.
