No...neither are useful OR worth the money.
Stock coils are way better than MSD's.

Stick with the stock coils. If you can find a K&N for cheap then get it. I picked up mine used from another member.
well im pretty sure my one of my coil packs is ****ed so im preplacing all of them and doing HIDs and intake while im at it...
I was planning on doing the same if mine go, cause i have a friend w/ a 3800 firebird whose coils went and he got the MSD's and got more mid-range power, just figured it'd be the same for me?

No.
Stock coils have more power output than MSD's. Proven. You want your car to run better? Get Autolite 606 spark plugs and get better WIRES, like MSD's or PRJ's. Stock coils are used on most of the fastest WBodys around...why? Because they are proven to not fail...just go grab a new set from Autozone OR... I got MSD coils as a gift, and they ****ing suck ass. All 3 have been replaced, since they were all manufacturing defects.
One literally split between the terminals, and was sparking all over the place.
The other two, had the contacts break off...
They add no power. If you want yours red, get some and spray them red.
They are a waste of money, and for an intake, dont waste your money, make your own.
Also, listen to these people telling you advice, most have been through a motor, or 3....
and they know what works/doesnt.
Your $350 dollars would be much better spent on other things..

If you are running an L36, you could try and snag a good set of used L67 coils. Not much difference, but a tad better throttle response.
The coils used on the L36 are also the same exact part number used on my '94 Grand Am. GM has used those coils a LOT. I have known them to rarely fail. From my experience, 90% of the time people think they fail, they are wrong and it was a different failure. I replaced two coils in many of the 3100/3400 engines I've worked on.
If you do some searching, I believe somewhere on the Internet I read someone posting a "how to" on resistance checking to see if a coil went bad.
thanks guys, did the HIDS, looks amazing and the intake sounds pretty wicked... will see about getting some stock coil packs... i have a random misfire??? and im just trying to find how to fix it so my car tuns top notch... the plugs and wires are all brand new.... any suggestions for that? THANKS!
Probably your coil packs. Replace them with stock
I would start with the coils, then ignition module itself. A bad coil will generally be the 2 cylinders that are matched to it. ignition module completely random cylinders.

Who makes the AM trays for the ECM? Also was the ecm put there in the stock box for cooling purposes? I worry bout under hood heat being a problem for the delicate module to be heat soaked? With the 180* thermostat I plan on doing like alot you have will the heat still be a problem? If I just go the zip tie route would it be ok if I used exhaust wrap to make sure the ECM doesn't get heat soaked? Sorry for all the Q's just trying to learn as I'm super anal about my rides lol! Sorry if this is off topic but what is the little two wire connector thats in the short rubber elbow between the TB and airbox jw?
umm you can get the tray through zzp, wbody store and 3800 performance. or make your own out of sheet metal or your imagination haha but no just zip tieing it wont make it prone to a alot of heat. mines just fine lol now between the airbox and the tb, do you mean the sensor on the tube?
