I didn't replace the UIM, I did get a new seal for it which included the EGR tube. Should I replace the entire plenum?

yes, replace the plenum. they're bad about leaking and warping etc. they're only $60 on zzp. maybe cheaper somewhere else idk

Here's the one I installed on my 00 GT. Comes with everything you'll need.

    this ^^

I only have one question...can you still put the HV3 in this one since it features "beefed up internal ribs?"

Thank you everyone for the help. I took it by a shop and had a test done with some chemical dye to see if there were combustion gases getting into the antifreeze and confirmed that a head gasket is bad so I'll be working on that this weekend.

Any tips or other things I should look for or replace while doing the head gaskets? I'm considering headers while I've got things that far apart.

    Thanks again!

You know, that is a good question. I didn't think to look at the underside too much before I installed it. Sorry!

As far as replacing things, you will need new head bolts as the factory as TTY. I think ARP sells some reuseable ones, but haven't looked in a while.
Besides the headers, maybe some rockers and a cam while you're there. Although I'm not sure how far you really want to go into the motor, and how deeply you want to dig into the wallet.

Head bolts are TTY, new set should be cheap.

If you plan on doing the head gaskets more than once then ARP studs are worth it.

Not sure why you need head bolts though. Head issues are mostly caused by the pistons or valve float from insufficient seat pressure.

I think I'll hold off on rockers and a cam because I need to get this car back as my daily driver. I had a backup pickup which also quit on me the same day I noticed the LIM gasket issue with this one.

So far I've got the front head removed and the back exhaust manifold off. There was coolant in all of the cylinders after I got the front off, is that just from removing the head or is it from leakage?

I ended up not going with the headers since this is getting expensive anyway but I did get a catless downpipe and o2 simulator from https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_...=551&catid=110.

Thanks again for all the great info so far.
