    2000 GP SE w/3.8L, 118,xxx miles.
I've apparently got a misfire/no spark to one or more cylinders because it's running rough (chugging) and the power & acceleration is about 60% of what it normally is. I should probably go ahead and replace the coil packs and wires. Strange that if this is the case the service engine light isn't flashing - isn't it supposed to?

There's no smoke from tailpipe, but there is fuel odor. Unplugging MAF sensor doesn't make any difference.
Within the last 5000 miles I've replaced ICM, plugs (Bosch Platinum 2's), fuel filter, and cut out the cat converter - just straight pipe there now.
It started doing this occasionally even before I removed the cat. I originally thought it might have been due to back-pressure in the exhaust caused by a bad/plugged up (?) catalyst. An it's been a few mos. since I plugged in an OBD II scanner so I don't have any codes for a more accurate diagnosis.

    Any help is appreciated.

gonna have to get some form of a scan.

it sounds like its pouring fuel into the cylinders. did you delete the rear o2 sensor?

Flashing SES light means shut the car down immediately.

Go to Autozone and find out what ses light is.

The rear O2 sensor is still there. Yeah I really do need to take it to Autozone and have it read for codes. Didn't know that if the SES light flashed it meant the engine would shut off immedieately. Thanks.

Err rather flashing SES light means driver shut the car off immediately. Anyway took it to O'Reilly's and scanned for codes. P0102 was the only one that came up. Disconnected the MAF sensor, no change, same code.
It's now at the shop, they said their scanner/diagnostic computer will help find the problem in more detail.

And yeah I think Bio's right about it pouring fuel into the cylinders. Slight fuel odor and economy is bad since this started happening too. The main mechanic/shop owner who is a family friend of my wife's said the cat should really be there because some back-pressure is necessary, but it was definitely bad. His assistant who asked me if the muffler is still there (yes) says that will provide some back-pressure itself.

But obviously others have removed the cat and haven't had any problems
A little confused - but still learning. And yeah I know to read the FAQ's/help sections, etc. to find out more.

Last I checked...I thought P0102 was the MAF code...so you unplugged it and nothing changed? Ok...any other code besides that one?
