Hi there,
I have a couple problems with my 97 Grand Prix GTP. First off today while driving to a store the car just died. It was the strangest thing. I tried to start it again and got nothing. For some reason the oil light went on but I checked the oil and it's fine (might have just turned on because the key was in the ignition (generator). So I wait about 3 mins and turned the key, the car fired right up and since then it's been driving fine.
To me it seems like the fuel pump is on it's last limb. for the car to die while driving to me, seems like the fuel got cut off, so the pump shut off. Wondered what you guys think?
Second Problem.....
The car makes a rattling noise from the supercharger manifold. I only notice it at idle or when I shut the car off. It seems like the shaft or some time of bearing is shot in the manifold/ s/c. Because when I shut the car off it makes a loud rattle while coming to a stop. Or like I said at idle it rattles a lot. I pin pointed the location though, I know it's coming from the manifold. I'll try to get a video tomorrow.
I was thinking of running a regular Grand Prix GT manifold on the car. Is this possible? Anyone know a part number if that's the case? I just hate the sound and rattle and don't even care if the car is supercharged or not. I'm more after reliability.
Thanks so much for reading. Any input/help is greatly appreciated.
