    It's me again..lol
And been running a fram.....no, not the el cheapo ph 4 racing....inside is nothing like the one that came apart. Ran the last one 52 hours with 50wt v-racing, mellings hv with 2 shims under the spring and plugged filter bypass. Makes 60 psi cold @1100 40 hot and 65 hot @ 6800 and 240* oil temp. I run motor hard it gets about 5 min part throttle warm up in summer and then gets hammered. And if it's not getting hammered it's idling for 1/2 hr at a time @ 1000 rpm with a .700 lift roller cam and 220/500 springs...
Don't know how good it actually filters until i pull pan this winter although i have never run 52 hrs on oil/filter and the oil wasn't all that bad.....and that was 52 hours after replacing the block over a crack issue. Quick hone, fresh cam bearings....used same rings/bearings gaskets...that be the 6th time i re-used the head gaskets....

If i were to say anything about fram filters... They would do well if they ditched the entire line of budget filters, even an occasional failure like the one i had is not acceptable. At this point i will say the racing filter seems to be able to flow enough 50w oil to maintain pressure. (my deal runs very loose bearing clearances...with normal clearance it would make 90 psi pressure...so i need the filter to flow more oil than most motors)

Besides.....premium oil filters are hard to get in this town and the ones that are available have an internal bypass....and if i wanted the oil to bypass the filter i wouldn't have plugged the bypass in the first place.Bypass is fine and dandy for a basic transportation car that doesn't generate a lot of material from wear...and they are fine in cold weather...If mine generates metal from something as simple as honing cylinders the freshen it up that material ends up in the bottom of the pan...and it's the first oil that gets pumped through the motor after sitting for a week or 2. The thought of that oil going straight to the bearings because of a bypass seems stupid.

Letting dirt in your engine?! That doesn't sound good at all!
