    When I pulled off my UIM today, I was surprised to see that the 2 deep wells in the opposite corners of the LIM where the 2 hidden bolts are, were filled to the top with oil !!! I am fairly certain it was pure oil, not mixed with AF. There was no sign of a crack or blowout on the UIM where the EGR tube protrudes and no other sign of AF in the LIM. Is it possible that all of this oil was a result of seepage up the 2 bolts in these wells? If it didn't come from there, I am at a loss to figure out how all of this oil got up there...
    '02 - 3.8(K) 153,000 miles, New UIM, New LIM alum. gasket, new lifters, new OEM cat. Runs great ! Owned it since new. (bought it 12 years ago with only 22 miles on the clock)

    Perfectly normal. Gets there from the PCV system.

    last couple lim jobs ive done they were full like that too

    98 gtp sedan forest green ,S1X intense cam,Intense pcm,Magnaflow exhaust, ubend delete,TEP trans 3.29's,3.4 smoothflow mps,Dyno'd 281hp and 371ft #'s of trq at the wheels

    If this issue is due to the PCV, can someone explain to me how the PCV can suck up this much oil? Doesn't seem to me like this is a good thing. Alll this oil then either sits there or gets ingested and burned along with the fuel/air.

    I thought this was due to leaky valve cover gaskets ??? I know since i've changed mine i no longer have that problem.
