Unless you WANT a fast N/A car, it would really be a waste of money. For the price of gettin your heads ported, you could do a topswap.

If you know a good shop that knows what they are doing, you can probably get them done for 600.

Plus you can always do turbo or CSC setups on L36s so it could or could not be a complete waste.

Like others have alluded to, the only real reason to do headwork to a GT is if you're preparing to go turbo. You're wasing time and money if you're pulling the heads and not replacing the top half with L67 parts or planning a turbo build later on.

    L67 on stock heads > L36 with ported/milled heads.

Some go fast in their GT just because its still fun. Hell when I had mine, another local GT always battled it out. Then he took a total different route and went cam. At first he still couldnt touch me since it was a GT2 and the car couldnt breathe. I was still sitting pretty in 14s. Then he got headers and ran a 14.3, which blew past me.

Still good times to be had. If your gonna do heads, get a GT2 cam, higher stall and 3:69 gears. That has 13 second NA combo written all over it.

What I did is have my GT heads done by a local perfomance shop cost just over $500 ,then deciding to go with forced induction I went with the ZZP SS M-90 kit so you do have options.
    04 gto stock,97 GPGT l-36 block diamond pistons ,l-32 rods ,custom comp cam grind,HS 1-7 RR, p&p heads, SS IC,SS M-90 3.5" ,4t60eHD,from Gonzales TX.
