How fast do you want to go, cause there are many mod paths, and they all have pros and cons, but the right one depends on How fast you want to go...

Yay I talked in a circle

But seriously how fast do you want to go

Not nessesarily. With a L36 block, you are not able to pump as much boost through as you could with a L67 block. There for you are very limited with boost. Especially non ICed. Say you can only make 8lbs of boost safely. Well, normally the turbo kits sold are meant to make about 12lbs+ efficiently. You are now under the turbos effiecency, wasting potential, and will take forever to spool. Not to mention, you paid MORE for this.

A top swap is definatly the better bargain for a GT. Parts can be had for cheaper then the turbo kit and can be done in a weekend with a couple buddys, some stuffed crust pizza, and some beer.

id get s&s headers if i were you. they dont tend to have the same problems as all the other vendors do. TOGs are hard to seal. SLPs tick. pacesetters are junk. and all of those are almost too big for an n/a application since youre more worried about velocity, not flow.

When you say hard to seal, do you mean hard to connect and install, or that the seal is week. If it's the former, I'll agree. I couldn't do it myself when I tried putting them on my Impala, after doing everything else. If you say they don't seal and leak, I disagree.

Not to say I'm not happy with them, bug again, my TOGs are on a S/C car. I'll problem just get a front Powerlog for my GT.

From what I hear, even on a supercharged car ported manifolds (to include the Plog) will get you down to the 12s or so.

If I were you, I'd just do the Powerlog and maybe ceramic crossover. The rear manifold is pretty good on its own so you probably wouldn't see any significant gains to be worth it. Kinda a ***** to do.

Later on if you feel its holding you back, do it then.

Not necessary. You can save some money by buying a 2" wide, 15' roll of header wrap. Did mine that way and it was pretty easy and effective.

    2.Downpipe
    3.Power Log & Ported Manifold
    4.U Bend Delete
No need for a u-bend delete as a bolt-in downpipe will have that already deleted. I agree with the suggestion to skip the rear ported manifold. Save your money on that and put it into the rocker fund. The rear PEM will give you like 3 hp at best probably. If you take apart your exhaust in one sitting, you could just use a dremel to touch up your stock rear manifold if it even needs it.

ok im a noobie as we all can tell when it comes to engine mods but what the heck are you talking about. I got the downpipe of course which i planned on ordering a 2.5inch 304 weld in with cat. also with that im planned on getting add front and rear gaskets. i dont get the skip the rear ported manifold? why not get rear if im going to get front ported? the only thing i planned doin to the exhaust was the ported front and rear manifold and dp and exhaust tips. i have after mufflers. PEM stands for? and rockers everyone says to get those but what are good and rockers and whats their point to get. I was hoping on replacing my cam with a gt1 cam. i figure that would also be good if i decided to get rockers wouldnt it be?

It all good man. It takes some time to get the Grand Prix lingo down. We all were in the same position at one time.
    PEM = Ported Exhaust Manifold.
That is a good choice on the downpipe, go with that. Since you are getting a downpipe you don't need a u-bend delete, so cross that off of your list.
The Power Log replaces the front exhaust manifold. It is built from scratch and is better than a ported stock front manifold.
The rear exhaust manifold from the factory is not that bad and there isn't much to port on it. The only gains you can really get from it are because sometimes the factory does a crappy job of welding them together. It is hit or miss. If yours was put together pretty well you won't have any noticeable gains from a ported rear manifold. If the factory did a bad job, like I said before you might get a couple of horsepower out of it. Not worth $120 or whatever they cost IMO.

Well I just suggested the rockers since they are a great mod for the money. I just put mine in and love them. If you have plans for a cam then forget the rockers. High ratio rockers and an aftermaket cam won't work together. It is one or the other.
