What the title says, it only seems to do it downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, and 2nd gear pull? It sounds just like a freakin supercharger (it sounds like titties) ... but it's getting progressivly louder? I just want to know whats causing it. I'll try to make a vid in the morning and post it on here. Hopefully nothing to worry about?.........

well, i would do this, add some p/s fluid even if the dipstick says its fine cuz mine said full but it whined and i added some and it went away instantly. Or smell the tranny fluid if it smells burnt then start savin up some moeny

Is it shifting normally? Hard shifts perhaps? Happen in stop and go traffic? And is it consistant or after the car warms up to operating temp?
If so, possible pressure control selenoid in trans. 30 dollar part P.I.T.A. to change! Or may I suggest a zzp performance shift kit that installs in the pres. accumulater in the lower valve body. For some reason this seems to fix the max line pressure problem and the kit is like 30 bucks and you don't need to pull the tranny!

could be the ac compressor going out. my 01 gt sounded that way. progressively got worse. at idle i put a long extension to my ear and moved to all moving rotating parts thought it was power stering at least that was my problem my 2 cents maybe it will help

Mine was whining really bad until I went to get my power steering flushed out. That was exactly the problem and it cleared up perfectly.

Mine has had a slight whine since the day I bought it. Hasn't really gotten worse. I'd guess it's just the belt moving on the pulleys. My AC pulley started REALLY squealing last fall so I had a whole new compressor/pulley put on. Wasn't too expensive since I didn't get it charged up.

Yea mine used to wine too.. It was just the P/S fluid being low. It still whined a little bit for some reason.. Might be a hidden supercharger lol I'm kidding..

My GT does not do it. It USED to when i first bought it with only 75k on the odometer. I thought it was the alternator, repaced that. Still whining. Power steering pump was full, however, the pump itself was bad. Put a new one on, and the whining went away.

It does sound like a supercharger lol and it does get louder with higher rpms. The pump will still work ok, but it whines.
