ok so i know you guys get a lot of questions about the MAF sensor and I've been looking around at various posts and trying to get some info. my SES light has been on for a while now and the code is reading P0102 for the MAF sensor. My car doesn't have any real problems besides surging a little bit on start up and if feels pretty sluggish and slow. It takes me a long time to get to 60 and sometimes when I press the gas after stopping, my car waits a sec and kinda jumps. I unplugged the sensor and drove a bit and from what I could tell, nothing really changed in the way it drove or felt. So I'm kinda stuck on whether thats the problem or not. I have a '99 GP GT with about 103,xxx miles on it and the only mod is a cai.

You might be able to clean the sensor if it has some buildup with alcohol, or mass air cleaner, its worth a shot.

I have an identical code that popped up, but besides being sluggish I'm having idling problems as well. It'll drop to 750 rpms at idle every few start ups and run really rough for a minute or so.

I'll grab some MAF cleaner or alcohol and see if that helps, thanks. Parts store said to either replace the MAF or O2 sensor, but cleaning it seems cheaper, so I'll do that first...

don't replace the O2 if you have a maf code. That's parts store goober talk.

PS..nice resurrection of a 3 year old thread.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
