yes.......you have intake mods and with an HV3 you want that thing to breathe on the top end.......go with a 3" DP
lol that's funny bcuz the guy I mentioned in my last post just texted me and said he'd let the m90,lim,fuel rail, fuel injectors go for 150! wth should I do im confused?
why does any of this confuse you..........do you want a top swap and can you do it yourself? IF so, this sounds like a good price to me. Did you read the thread on top swapping? If you dont want to top swap then get the downpipe. If you do top swap you will need all of the supporting mods anyway......plog/downpipe(preferrably headers depending on if you are going to drop pulley sizes or not), air intake, and definitely a tune. A top swap is a fair amount of work, if you are not familiar with it. Since you don't have a lot of money why not get all of your supporting mods in place first and then buy top swap parts until you have them all ready to go in. You might as well port and polish them first since they are out, get some roller rockers, etc. And a cam would top it all off when you do the top swap, but it just depends on what your goals are.........hope this helps to unconfusify(just made that up) you.......
thanks I appreciate all the help.I want and am gonna get the top swap I was just wondering what should I buy first the actual parts or the supporting mods but I met with the guy tonight and it turns ou t that it was a series 1 supercharger (im assuming because the snout looks very short ) so I guess im going dp and plog 4 now =(
Its ok as you must have the supporting mods first, before you do the top swap due to the higher compression.......
As long as you run a stock blower pulley and have it tuned you don't need any mods IMO.
if you can afford a topswap, you can afford a tune........
so would it be worth it to save up and get a top swap or just settle for a downpipe and powerlog for now?
well.......do you know anyone who can do a custom tune for you in your area? If you can afford to do the topswap, headers, and tune that would be the ultimate way to go.......do you have any mods now at all? Personally I would not topswap until I had the supporting flow mods and a tune for it.........why topswap if you cant let it breathe and have to put a very restrictive tune on it. If you do that you might as well stay NA and put a FWI, Plog, DP, and HV3 in it and you will have about as much HP as a stock GTP......not quite as much torque but if you got all that and a tune you would probably be faster than stock gtp's.....fwiw. What is your total budget for this or what price range are you trying to stay in? Do you want instant gains, or do you just want to baby around a top swap car because you would have knock? You could get the FWI, DP, and Plog and then after all that save up for the topswap because you could use all of those same parts to help with the topswap performance if you get that far at some point and not have wasted money on anything......The first mod should be the DP or the FWI either way.......That is what I would do if I were you anyway
well like I said I have the slp air box,slp catback,hv3,stage1 throttle body and money wise I keep hearing diff things about the top swap,if I can get the swap for 500 I can make that happen its just a matter of what should I get first parts wise t/s or supporting mods, but right now im really focused on getting my car into the high to mid 14's soon
well.......you can get air into your motor with your mods, now you need to get it to come out first, before you topswap in my opinion.....If you have $500......get a tune, plog, downpipe..........later if you can get more money.........then do the topswap and you will already have the supporting mods in place.....in my opinion.
sell that slp air box, hv3, stage 1 t/b then get enough money together to do a genV s/c, N*, and yella terra 1.9 rollers, then your car will do this on a stock pulley

Im not sure what my car runs but i would guess high 13's.
btw you might want to have some money on this side for a tranny, Ive had my top-swap for maybe 3 months and my tranny is taking a ****
