Hey guys I have a 2005 Grand Prix Base model. Im looking at giving it alittle more giddy up under the hood but all I can seem to find is a top swap for the 90's-03 body style ond of course GM changed the motor from series 2 to series 3 .
Would really like to get this done any one know any good ideas for this?

Get a Gen V top swap, from an L32 motor (04 and up GP). Everything should bolt right up. Check out the Top swap sticky posted in this section.

Except the throttle body. I don't know of anyone who makes an adapter to use a Series III throttle body on Series II parts.

...true, didnt think of that. youll need at least the genV supercharger and TB then. you can just modify a genIII lower intake and it will bolt right up.

you have to open up the inlet of it towards the blower snout. the bolt pattern is still the same on it so that wont matter, but the inlet of the genV is moved towards the snout slightly. i would just trace a genV gasket on it and cut it out if i were to do it.

Thanks guys for all the great input, but I've got one last question...where can I buy a nice top swap kit without breaking the bank, like the 1000 to 2000 dollar range

You can put it together yourself for a lot cheaper than that. Besides, there won't be a kit that fits your needs since you have a series III.

I did it through junk yards, ebay, and the forums. I probably spent about $600 on the parts themselves, then another $1200-$1400 on getting them cleaned, reconditioned, and all the upgrades...

Call up ed morad (easiest way to go about top swap) He will make you a top swap kit whether or not it is a series II or III with everything that you would need (besides gaskets and bolts) even though he included a box with about 100 bolts.
