Hi everyone. Got an ‘05 GT with the NA series 3 just turned 100k miles. I tried searching for the hesitation symptom I got but couldn’t turn up my exact issue. What’s started happening recently is the car will be accelerating lightly around 15-20mph and the engine will pretty much cut out. Like no power at all then my reaction is to goose it lol. About half throttle it starts pick up again and go. It’s happened on the start of a trip and it’s happened after a long highway haul so I’m not thinking it’s temp related. The other 90% of the time the car runs fine and has plenty of power. It’s just funny cuz you’ll do a uturn in traffic and the car will sit there idling and I’ll look like an old person lol.
fresh plugs and wires about 10k ago.
i cleaned the throttle body and Maf sensor when it first started
    no codes have popped up
and this thing doesn’t have a serviceable fuel filter

maybe ecu issue or throttle position sensor(although it’s drive by wire too)

    any my other thoughts

Hmm that could be a fun test. I always wanted to get rid of that stock midpipe with one of those zzperformance ones. Wouldn’t a cat cause it to pretty much not wanna run above half throttle though. She runs good once the rpms are up

busted cat can fall apart block the exit of the cat, floor it, or hit a bump it can unclog the exit enough to run well again.

when cold get under the cat hit the cat listen for it to rattle inside. if you got a temp laser you can see if its hotter vs the pipe after it. or drive it kinda hard at night and park in a dark area and see if the cat is glowing red.

Could be a crank sensor. I've had 2 bad ones with different symptoms. With that mileage perhaps replace it? Once I would get a code but it wouldn't directly indicate the sensor, other time I would get no code and the car would sputter and die when warm. The second time even with a GM Tech II, the Firestone guy said it looks like its fine (sensor)... It wasn't, just a thought. If you purchase one DO NOT go cheap, AC Delco brand, nothing else, No ebay specials or off-brand sensors...
