    Hello Everyone,

I have been hearing an engine noise while accelerating lately.

When pushing it at or above 3k rpms I hear a “nun-nun-nun-nun-nun” rhythm over the normal engine acceleration. I don’t remember hearing this in the past. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of noise or do you think I should have it checked out?

You mean my scientific description of “nun-nun-nun-nun-nun” isn't good enough haha

I will report back with a video if I can get some good sound quality.

Actually.. I am sitting here talking to wife and mentioned this noise that was mentioned. I think I know it.

What rpm are you seeing when you are hearing it? When I say nun nun nun nun nun out loud it sure as heck sounds like an engine bouncing off the rev limiter. Not that I'd have done that when I zipped by Advance and saw any of the usual guys out front.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

My 2003 3.8L V6 does this.......To my knowledge this is the rev limiter in action, so you don't blow the engine. I believe you can remove this with some different chip/PCM process, not sure I would do that thou. If you rev to 4K+ RPM and then drop in gear, you might be picking up pcs of your tranny for a few blocks
