    Hello!

I was looking at this cheapo CAI for my 1996 LQ1 Grand Prix.
    96 97 Chevy Lumina Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 3 4L V6 LQ1 Z34 Air Intake Blue | eBay
I know this one is probably not too great, but if it's cheap and helps me with gaining some power its worth it. The car isnt worth putting too much money into for mods.

I have heard mixed opinions on CAIs, so I was wondering if one will make any difference for a car like this.

    Thank you in advance

most people here just make their own, from purchasing intake piping from places like summit racing to PVC piping at your local harware store, and slap a good filter on the end of it. as long as you have a diameter tube similar to the throttle body and get rid of the accordion looking stock tubing, your golden

A homemade one would probably be better than that ebay one just saying. All that ebay one is is just a filter for the most part, it doesnt replace the stock intake tube.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Unfortunetly I dont really have the tools or time to make my own.

I hate to be a pain with the cheap ebay crap, but would something like this be better then since it has an intake pipe?

All you need is a filter and hose clamps and stick it right on the throttle body

i actually bought that ebay one.
you could get a different filter if you wanted but that one is aluminum and comes with the little holes for the sensors already.
its a good buy considering all the piping you need is about that much, and that filter has lasted me a year and is fine.

Doesn't work that way; smart guy.

External MAF for the LQ1...so you can't just bolt it on the end of the TB.

So then you can go home now, pantyman.
