Does anyone know what the octane rating is or should I run in my car? And what is the stock compression ratio?

Google the 3400 motor, wiki has that data.
But as for fuel, 87 octane is more than likely the fuel of choice, but you can run 89, 91, 92 or whatever you want.
from someone who has had a 96 3.4L DOHC, and has tuned a bunch of these engines, i recommend doing the following:
these DOHC always run lean. so you can either run 89 or 93 or.... when you change your spark plugs switch to a colder rated plug with a smaller gap.
Switching to 93 won't help a lean condition. Lean has to do with AFR, AFR wont change with octane.
If the car is designed for 87, and doesn't knock on 87, then don't run anything more than 87 or you will lose power.
