i try to mix my own, that type is ok, but its cheaper to buy the concentrate kind, not the pre mix.
you'll need 3 gallons of pre mix at what 14 a gallon or more, or one gallon of concentrate for 14. hell i get the cheap green staor brand on sale for 12 sometimes.
you can return it if its not opened yet and get green, save a few bucks.

Cool - follow Scotty's method, and you should be good. But just to ease your mind a bit...it would be rare for the head gasket to be toast on a 3.1...but those engines chew through LIM gaskets with a fair amount of regularity. The 3.4 would eat head gaskets, but my 3.1s never did.
Hope the coolant flush helps, and we can start working on your other issues then.

your good to go then, have at it.
the type used isn't as important as flushing and changing the coolant is. new coolant is new coolant.
you can toss a flush agent in there once it flushed to clean water, drive the car some let it cool off, then re flush it. then add the new coolant.
that will help clean out all the snot and boogers inside the engine and rad.
Scotty - would this also flush out the heater core, or does that need to be done separately? I only ask because I see people doing just heater core flushes, but wasn't sure of the reason...my own ignorance causing me to hijack this thread a bit...lol
the core is pumped to full time, even when the heat is off the core gets coolant to it. so yes, it will flush it out too.
when people need to flush the core alone its cause its blocked up, or has air in it and they are not getting heat.
those dumb coolant elbows are what feed the heater core.
Happened to me, found a nice red 00 GTP with 140k on it and a rebuild trans with paper work for 2500 and my dad refused to let me buy it because of the trans being rebuilt and saying it had too much power but before we had test drove a 87? Turd gen firebird with a fresh 350 and paint and he wanted 4k makes sense right? So insted we found the car I have now Black 02 GT with 126k with little to no rust and picked it up for 3850......I can't complain tho, still just minor pinch weld rust and trans is solid and im at 144k.

am i glad my parents had 100% zero say in the cars i bought. my money, ill buy what i want. id never tell them either, just come home with a new car. ( that was the deal they laid on me, if i want a car i will pay for it and everything else related to it)
the rules were also, dont even bother to ask to drive our cars, so they didnt drive mine either lol they had nice cars too, new caddys and mom had a 82 firebird that was few years old when i got my lic. (yes she drove kit)
id get the whats that out there? cause id fix peoples cars a lot so a new strange car was nothing new.
