Hey! I need help! My car doesn't wanna go anywhere. If I drive it at 1/4 to 1/3 pedal, she drives fine. If I try to get into traffic, she hesitates, then takes off, but bogging like hell. While driving to work, I also notice if I accelerate more while going over the bridge, she bucks pretty hard. Can't race at all, cuz when I floor it to downshift, it bucks and bogs, then the service engine soon light flashes at me until I let off the gas. I haven't a clue if it could be a tranny or engine problem. Possibly fuel? I do know this all happened after I nailed a curb. Possible coincidence that something else went out at the same time? Or did I screw something up? I already know I have a bent rim, working on getting a replacement, but funds are limited. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm afraid I might try to go into traffic and she stalls. Hasn't stalled yet, but feels like it wants to.

flashing check engine light = misfire severe enough to cause damage to the catalyst. you have either excess fuel or a weak ignition system.

    check your plugs.

I'm kinda leaning towards a clogged cat issue here, with the whole bogging down and no power past 1/4 throttle.

Awesome. Thanks! I finally got my mechanic to drive it tonight and he mentioned plugs. I also noticed the sulfur smell coming from the exhaust so I wouldn't doubt it's bad. Once payday comes I'm going to take care of that. I appreciate it. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I'm going through the same thing, but I had my fuel filter changed, the power steering pump changed, as well as the water pump and a new belt. Mine is a 2001 Grand Prix SE. I noticed all my problems started when I hit a curb in Colorado, but somehow blaqdiamondz made it back to Georgia without a problem.
