Well for $50 bucks i cant say you went wrong...LOL.... Any more though and it would be pushing it. I had a 96 SE with the dreaded 3.1L..... WORST motor I have ever had. I REALLY do hope you have better luck with yours then i did with mine. Any way it sounds like it it probably the flex pipe is leaking... Or exhaust mani.

Well I am sure they can be good motors.. I had TERRIBLE luck with mine. So bad I SWORE i would not buy another GP unless it was a GTP. I will never own a 3.1L again. But I do know people who have had good luck with them... Just not me.

my comment wasnt directed to yours, if you thought it was then my b i wasnt trying to and your right, some have luck and some get ****ed just depends on how the motor was takein care of in the early miles, just like all motors but this are very touchy and i dont think yours had the same engine back in 96

no its a 3100. i have a 95 with the 3100. 3100 came into play in 94 up. but hey.

and to the OP, an exhaust leak doesnt sound like a bad explanation.

Fixed it,no cracks but every bolt was loose on back mani and front had three broken studs laying in the heat shield.for a v6 this thing sounds damn good.

update, ticking is back and im leaning towards exhaust manifold gaskets due to the fact that the ticking goes away at certain rpm's and seems to be at the back of the motor.any suggestions?
