As in sell the SE and buy a GTP? thats a good start. Not too sure on the harness (will prolly have to be switched out, or at least added to for some connectors), but you will definately need a new PCM, the whole engine assembly, prolly some other stuff. Not too many people get the 3.1 and want to mod them or convert over.

There are little to no mods for them unless you want to dive into straight custom work, turbo is possible but you will have to fabricate everything and then tune it accordingly, which may or maynot work well since that engine isnt designed for that kind of FI

yea im like the only other person on here that likes there 3.1, but theres realy nothing out as far as bolt ons, besides CAI (make your own) and exhaust other then that theres only top swapping with a 3.4 or a 3.5, Milzy Motorsports - American Muscle, Reborn look around on there and see what you find, but theres not a supercharger out there and you could turbo it but you would have to make it all work together, like tlsheff said and no the harness's are not the same
but i plan to swap in a 3.4 and then top swap it with a 3.5 and then turbo it but thats years from now

By that point in time you could have bought a GTP and turbo'd it and gone faster.

My fathers 3.1 is a burden on the universe. It would be tough for me to suggest go fast parts. Have you done your monthly LIM gasket swap?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I will throw this out there, last week I did the 56mm throttle body upgrade. Yes, my 3100 seems "happier" providing a bit stonger pull in midrange at WOT. Well worth the less than $50 spent. Next is the u bend delete...

132k miles on my 94 SE, head gaskets were done at 77K miles 10 years ago. It runs better today than it did when I got it at 55k. The best mod I've done is a custom front exhaust log manifold and 2" X-over. Ported rear manifold and custom 2.5" DP. I got 11whp just from that.

I'm afraid I have to debate this point. Not all SE's came with a 3.1. As a matter of fact I have two with the 3.8. Both bought with under 60,000 miles. Whereas the GT's and GTP's are more likely to have a history of drivers with lead feet. The GT's and GTP's also have years of weathering under the sideskirts. Mine are rust free and will last longer.

Unfortunately I also like my 3.1L and as much as I'd love a bigger engined Gt or GTP, I had to settle for a number of reasons.

Regardless, I'd still really like to mod it as best I can, while still keeping it affordable.

    Any suggestions?

    Air intakes?
    Exhaust tips?

    Anything to improve looks/performance/sound/etc..

    Thanks.

btw I'm new on this site, even though I've browsed it for months haha

You know..as much as I hate the dirty one hundred ...you should be able to tune it. Usually that free's up a pile of ponies.

My sisters crapbox Achieva S (I think it stands for "special" or maybe "sucky") got towed back the other night.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

you can do little stuff like an intake(make your own) and redo the exhaust, catless dp and a u-bend delete, just little flow mods to make it easier for when your ready to tear into it and rebuild it, tuneing will also help alot but only if you have the flow mods to go with it,,the looks- you can do anything you want because it'll have to be custom,, i love the way mine sound and the only thing done to it is a hy-flow cat

To the OP. Since no one has said it.

Bottle feed it. That's be awesome. Just to see what it does. Then when it blows the crap up after you just fed it a 100 shot and it runs low 14's...put a L67 or an L32 in it.

    OR...save for an actual GTP.

11WHP...huh. Sounds like tons of work with no gains.
