Hi everyone, I've posted on here a couple of times but the condition of my tranny keeps changing. I bought my 2000 GP SE a few months ago with the knowledge that there "may" be an issue with the tranny. I drove it over an hour home with absolutely no issues, eventually the CEL came on and the car would spit and sputter a little bit. Had the CEL checked and it said TCC solenoid was bad. So I drove it that way for a while with very minor issues. I eventually took the car to my dads garage for help changing the part, however to him I'm still a kid and I don't know what I'm talking about... I knew how to change it but he wouldn't listen to me. He would not drop the cradle, so he ended up breaking the TCC solenoid off in the valve body.. he eventually got the rest of it out and pulled the clip out.. obviously without dropping the sub frame he could not replace the clip. So after it was put back together it ran like absolute ****.. shifting at like 6k rpm... So I decided to order the rest of the solenoids and change them myself.. well after I got it all apart the TCC solenoid was just kind of hanging in there... I decided not to change it again since it was already new and I made my own clip to hold it in. I put it all back together and it ran good up and down the road.. I found out pretty quick that I had a leak and the first long trip I went on the CEL came back on... I needed to fix the leak so a few days later I took it all apart once again and replaced the TCC with an AC Delco plus put in a factory style clip instead of the one I made.. I even lined it up myself this time and had it damn near perfect.. I drove it about 50 miles away and back the next day with absolutely no issues. The car ran perfect. However the following day I was taking my father to another town.. about 50 miles again... the whole way down it did excellent, no issues, however on the way back I got off of an exit and the car down shifted hard.. and the CEL came back on. I has pretty much been this way ever since, I did flush it one and replace the filter and It ran good for about 5 miles. Recently it has been running excellent until it warms up, then it acts like crap. The car will go through all gears, sometimes it just wont shift until around 4-5k, and the throttle response it often very crappy. I'll have the pedal at about 1/4 throttle and move it to 1/2 throttle and nothing with happen, but I move it from 1/2 to 3/4 and the RPMs jump to near red line and the torque steer when this happens is aweful. Just wondering if anyone can chime in here. On saturdays my wife and I drive around town and look at yard sales.. usually about 30 mins into looking the check engine light will go off and the car runs fine. I also have very few issues with it on the interstate. All help is hugely appreciated.

Seems that you have a scanner to have gotten the TCC code. When it acts up, scan it or get it scanned and find out what codes it's giving you now.

Transmissions can act up with something as simple as a bad tps or maf. But I wouldn't try to diagnose them without pulling codes etc. And likely it's the old tired trans.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
