Im new here, and here is whats going on. when i push the pedal im at 3500-4000 rpms, and going nowhere. maybe 20-30 mph. when trying to get on the freeway pedal to the floor, and no faster than 55. i have to let off the throttle and ease back into it to get the car to shift. is it the transmission or solenoids. any info is greatly appreciated. dont have the money to fix right now, but will after i get back from working in Trinidad, Africa, and Austrailia about 30-40 days. thanks

Welcome to the forum! The only way to properly diagnose these transmissions is with a scan tool as they are 100% controlled electrically by the pcm/computer. It sounds like your car is starting in the wrong gear and you are forced to give it a lot of throttle to get it moving and may also be stuck in just 2nd or 3rd gear. Have you tried to manually shift the car from 1st through D? If you dont have availability of a scan tool then it is best take the car to someone who can properly diagnose it for you.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2000. I push the gas pedal and the car does not respond properly. the boost on the meter goes up, but car feels like it's struggling to move. I was told it is trans, but I don't think it is. but i'm taking mine to the mechanic to find out for sure.
