Hey guys, this is just an informal poll I'm putting together for the 04+ guys.

What is your normal normal trans temp daily driving (Stop and Go, or Freeway driving) on a hot day? I see my trans at 195+ quite a bit, but it's showing no ill effects.

    Thanks

143 with ambient temps around 97-99. Using GM 3800 9c1 oil cooler as a trans cooler in standalone config and remote trans filter

Stop and go it has seen over 200*. On a highway drive it stays around 180-190.

I have a trans cooler in mine as well. 08 GXP. Really heavy stop and go, I'll hit 195, very rarely 200. Trans is doing great. Normally I am 160-185. Highway cools it right down and sits 170.

Ours got that high. Then it started hard shifting and slipping. New filter, fluid and a bottle of Lucas didn't do the trick. I would get a cooler on your car sooner rather than later.

Since installing a Hayden 403 cooler inline with the radiator and I don't typically break 180.

Well he does have a fresh transmission so I'm sure he wants it to be problem free for the long haul. Bet it cools much better then the $40 one anyways.

Good deal. I'll eventually get one put on when I start driving it again. Never had a issue with high temps in the past but my town is rather small and I mostly drive the hwy. so it's never to much stop and go.

Weird I know im not 04+ but I see like high 170s on the highway and it takes forever to reach that temp. Max I saw was 180-185 and in stop and go like 200. If I turn my heat on high I got it to stay at 177 on the highway. Note the ambient temps were like 85.

I do have a fresh trans built by TEP so it was just easier to order the cooler when I ordered the trans and install it all at the same time. Expensive....yes, but worth it to me. What's another $100 bucks anyway when you just ordered a $1400 trans??
