All the brands look pretty much the same. Some have nylon washers, some have metal ones. Anyone use them and have any info about them? One youtube video says to just snug it down, but I'd think you'd probably want to mash it pretty good. Any thoughts?

I have a ZZP one and a buddy has the dorman one. Aluminum vs steel. I think I like the way the steel is done better

Didn't see any aluminum ones, but wouldn't get one anyway. More wondering about the washers. Some kits have one, some have two, some are metal, some are nylon.

I think the dorman one uses an npt bolt and calls it done. The aluminum ZZP ones.. are often prone to leakage

Looks like they are all NPTF but I went with the Jegs one because it uses a metal washer on the pan side nut.

i'm thinking of tapping a plug into my OEM trans pan. I'm probably gonna do it on my spare one to test it

Says it doesn't fit the HD transmission, not sure why that would matter though.

It's the same pan. Heck..you can even use a 60E pan if you really wanted. Holes are slightly bigger, that's all

I just welded a nut with a flange in there and used a drain plug from a motor I tossed out. Worked great and was FREE! Sucks trying to drain them any other way unless you have a GIANT catch pan...

Thats a good idea... I need to swap fluid an filter on my GXP and may try that. It's not going back on without some sort of drain plug at least.

That pan looks pretty slick. Might have to get one instead of a DIY plug.
