Just started today, 99GTP started taking a very long time to shift in all gears. When the car is ready to shift it disengages the current gear, theres a 1-2 second delay, then it goes into the next gear. It will shift smooth if I hold the throttle steady, but giving it any gas during this delay will cause it to shift hard into the next gear. Its completely free revving during this delay, giving it more or less throttle doesnt affect vehicle speed.
Did pan drop around 500 miles ago. Fluid was pretty dark, but didn't smell burned. Shifted perfectly smooth before today. Should mention I disconnected the battery today for a few hours, and it does have a tuned PCM, though I dont think this would affect it. I drove to the store after batt was reconnected and it drove fine. Doesn't slip during WOT runs in any gear. The problem started on the way home around 10 min later. Trans runs between 195 and 215* F. No codes.
Any suggestions would be great. The cars in a lit garage I can go outside to do any recommended tests or take pics.
Thanks
