I have just the regular 3.8 in my '05 GP GT2
I know its a matter of time before something happens with the trannies in these - wanted to get some input on possibly how close I am to the end
I have 101K miles on the odo right now.
For the most part when starting out nothing much happens - occasionally a 1-2 slip but usually ok.
As the temp rises (per the DIC) thats when the fun starts. Over 175F degrees and the 1-2 bang happens under moderate acceleration. Once the tranny goes above 205F (ie, stop and go traffic) I can get bangs on almost all gear changes.
The tranny temp has never gone above 228F - but in traffic it usually hits 205F no problem.
The tranny fluid was exchanged about 15K miles ago so it should still be good.
Any short term fixes or am I coming around the last bend with this tranny?
