My recently acquired 2001 GTP has a broken transmission dipstick (handle gone), and I stopped by our local GM dealership, who promptly told me it was discontinued and he could not locate one anywhere in the USA.

This is a rather large parts center, so I don't doubt them, but I still need a new transmission dipstick regardless...

    My question...

Can anyone tell me, or link me, to a list or some other reference as to what other vehicle's trans. dipstick can be used in it's place? In other words, what other cars share the same (or very similar) length dipstick?

    Thanks.

That's what I hoped to hear. I just need the stick though, not the tube. Thanks.

Oh..even easier. Bring no tools. One paper towel. that way you can wipe it down.

Walk in.. pull one.. pay walk out.

Would they even charge you for a dipstick at the junk yard?
