i have a 1997 gtp 4t65e trans. when the car is cold somtimes it will catch 3rd gear but other then that straight from 2nd to 4th then od.. i unplugged the trans and it moves fine unplugged.. wondering if it would be solenoids or just trans took a crap..not sure what to do need help thanx...

chances are the trans is toast. i lost 3 rd gear in mine too. it started out chugging at 30 to 35 mph at light throttle in 3 rd gear, then one day, no more 3 rd gear.
got a used tranny put in.
