I am going to replace my valve body and I was considering upgrading the 2nd stack to the Triple Edge set with thicker steels. I was wanting to know if the 2nd stack is underneath of the channel plate or if it is harder to get to than that. I know the 4th clutches are right there, thanks to bb's write up on the hub shaft, but I don't know about the 2nd clutches.

Remove side cover and pull the insides out and in there is the 2nd clutch packs and everything else.

"pulling the insides out" is what I was trying to avoid

Second clutch stack is under the driven sprocket support beneath the channel plate. It's the first drum you take out.
