I am getting a lot of jolting and shuddering when the TCC is in lock up. It doesn't seem to do it in coast, only under mild acceleration before the TCC unlocks again. It does it in all gears. In TAP mode it gets much worse since it is trying to lock the TCC more often. Other than that it shifts and runs out fine. My tranny has about 60k on it (reman) and the torque converter has about 115k. I am guessing that it could be the TCC solenoid or the TCC itself.
I am not familiar at all with automatic trans. so I would like some advise on where to start. Should I try the TCC solenoid first? Replace the converter? While I have the side cover off should I also replace the PCS or valve body? What are the most likely causes of TCC issues? Do the TCC clutches themselves typically wear out?
I am really at a loss on this, and honestly kind of panicked. This is my only car and I am really tight on cash. I really appreciate any help.
