i wasn't really sure where to post this.

Alright i am having a problem with my transmission fluid leaking and have already checked the pan gasket and that is all fine and since i have never really done anything drive tran wise i was wondering if it could be caused by my cv axle been popped out ? i checked the seal and it is good, also i have a vibration at highway speeds here are some pics below

    Passenger side :

FWI i already know that the drivers side is suppose to look like it is popped out but i am unsure if this is how the passenger side is suppose to look

I cant say with a lot of certainty since its been a while since Ive looked at mine, but it is possible that the CV shaft can induce some vibration, Ive been down that road and it is possible that if that seal is bad that some tranny fluid is going to get out. Pull that shaft out to replace it and you can loose about a half a quart of fluid.

I do believe that seal can be replaced in the car (i.e., not having to pull the tranny) but for any definitive answers regarding the tranny I'll defer to Trannyman as he is the resident expert in these matters.

I'll also move this to the tranny section since it deals with that.

A bad inner passenger side CV joint causes vibration when accelerating during turns as well as vibration at speeds from 60-70MPH.

It looks like you have an engine oil leak that is making everything pretty messy in the area. Is the leak that you have definately red trans fluid? It is not very often to see an axle leak on these transmissions unless the seal is damaged or the axle shaft is damaged or worn and the only way to verify that is to take things apart and inspect. I would get some brake-clean and spray everything off really good so it is dry and clean and then drive the car again to see where the wet areas are to find the leak

i already checked it out and it wasn't oil some was dripping onto the trans pan it is was red colored and then i tasted it and the only area the seems to have this fluid around it is where the half shaft goes into the transmission i need to replace my CV axle anyways so i guess while i am doing that i should just go ahead and change that seal

yea, it's not like you drink it or anything you just put a little dab on your finger and then touch it to your tounge it's not harmful or atleast i don't think so

If that's harmful, I'm in trouble. First time I changed my filter, I had to really pry on it. It popped off and landed in the drain pan, splashing trans fluid all over my face. I can attest to the fact that it doesn't taste too good.

Change the cv shaft and the axle seal but be careful when installing the new seal use some kinda of a real light lube to aid the seal in seating all the way and DON'T pound on the seal matting surface thats aluminum and it could crack.

I have a similar leak on the passenger side. And it is a mess just as well. It appears to be the inner Axle/ CV seal but the way is drips down the side housing then off the pan it almost appear like the side housing is leaking. If this is the case can the seal or gasket inside that case be replaced while replacing the axle seal ? While it's in the car ? It leaks at a rate of a pint or two a month. Too cold here to replace it now but I want to be prepared for a nice warm day . Damn it was 30 below yesterday !

Oops. I guess thats the differential housing, I found a few diagrams of the Transaxle and a procedure to install a limited slip differential. I don't need one but I need to fix this leak, maybe it's just the Oring seal seeping or something more troubling.
    Thanks!
