Car moves 200 feet, won't move further until restarted

7.2 quarts is what the book calls for when doing a pan drop and filter change.

Double check the fluid level and get back to us.

Hey guys, I've been on vacation and am giving you all an update lol This is exactly what is happening to my car but with a more aggressive whine from the TC housing.

The whine sounds much like a power steering pump going out. I figured I would just give you guys an update. Honestly I'm the kind of guy that likes to figure it out before moving along so that I know for the future what I'm dealing with. I'm going to take out my trans today and just take care of it, but maybe this can help someone else down the road also. So now for the Update.

I let me car rest for a week. I came back and it drove just fine for a little while, then stopped going into gear. I took out the oil I just put in, and it's dark red again, the same color it was when I did the service. I put in more oil. Still will not go into gear. Left it running for 15 minutes. Now it starts to go into gear at 2500 RPMS, it moves slowly. Occasionally it chugs and works fine. Therefore I think it might be electrical. Long story short. I'm removing the trans doing an HD upgrade to a newer one, put some better parts in it, and be on my mary way.

P.S. this time I filled it, I put exactly 7.4L of fluid in it after pan drop.

I was just curious why you think it's electrical. Do you have any code(s) that would point you in that direction?
